Getting marks off walls?

We're about to move into a new house and there's quite a few marks on the walls...mainly children's dirty paws and other general marks, which arent bad, but not worth a repainting a room job.
Does anyone know of anything to get these marks off? I remember seeing some type of sponge somewhere ages ago...
thanks for all your help

You could try one of the Eraser Blocks - JML do them (I've seen them stocked in Boots) or there are cheaper ones in Aldi. I find them great for removing all sorts of marks of all sorts of surfaces. It's easier to get forgiveness than to ask permission
