ebay and quidco

If you are a quidco member you can get 60% cashback from ebay outlet. On quidco it says;
"60% -for winning a eBay auction or Buy It Now item. This amount is based on eBay revenue - not on the price you pay."
Can anyone explain exactly how this works? For example, if I were to buy a coat from ebay outlet for £30 with £4 p&p and I go through quidco, what is the reduction/cashback?

Thanks.

On your example the selelr will have listed a multiple BIN so 40p for as many tiems as he wished, so probbaly no cash back on that as it is below 1p.

FVFs could be as low as £2.16, possibly even lower (that assumes TRS status). So the absolute emaximum cashback possible is around £1.30. However, I've never got that sort of amount when using Topcashback (I don't use quidco as ebay never tracks for me)

While the headline figure of 60% sounds great, this offer does not amount to a great deal I'm afraid.

Ebay are offering 60% of what they earn from the purchase. Usually, Ebay will earn between 5% and 10% of the sale price - you will then get 60% of this.

The p&p is not taken into account and there is probably a VAT element taken out of the figures as well.

In my experience, the cashback level has only been roughly 4p for every £1 spent.

    I hope that makes sense......

I've only been buying in ebay via Quidco since August as I kept forgetting about it but since then I've had £1.50ish & have only bought 6 things and nothing very expensive, all under £6, so it's free money in my eyes & every little helps.

Does it work for BINs too? I use Auctiontrax, which gives a penny in the pound back, but in two years I've made 79p on it since it only covers auctions rather than BINs, and only works for the first bid placed through the site.

I usually only buy low priced items from ebay and they usually track anywhere between 1p-20p, there seems to be no pattern to guess how much you will get.

I bought a sofa suite from there recently though for £380 and quidco didnt track

Yes, on Quidco it says auction or BIN but it has to be direct not through a snipe, which is a shame. Not classifieds though.

Did you pay cash on collection? "eBay track when you pay for a successful bid so ensure you go through Quidco to pay", so I assume that you have to pay by Paypal.
If you did pay by Paypal you can raise a cashback query of over £1.
    I've had a 44p & a 50p payment, among others I think they must relate to a £5.69 & a £5.89 spend, so I'm quite chuffed with it.
It would be nice if we could pay our fees via a cashback site.

    Direct through eBay?

    thats a shame
i buy quite a lot on ebay and find they are reliable in tracking and paying
(i obviously buy too much or i would have noticed they dont pay on snipes, which is about half what i buy)

I don't think it makes any difference how you win. The important thing is that you go through quidco to pay, it doesn't matter how you bid. :T
