OK..so I'm in a mess and I know it. All advice very gratefully received. I took out a loan in 2006 to consolidate debt after a long period of illness. The loan was with GE money (Southern Pacific Mortgages Ltd) and was for £29,000. After years of struggling, they eventually took me to court earlier this year and there is an order on my property. I am in the process of trying to sell the house (I've given up trying now and I can't take any more pressure). I asked GE for a settlement fee and they did....its £45,000 made up of PPI (£5000) (which was on the original credit agreement but I didn't realise I had!) plus 'fees' for the arrears. I make that £11,000 worth of fees!!!
I just don't know how to deal with this or where to start. Please help me x

            Hi and welcome
So sorry to hear of these issues, and hope it resolves very soon.
 Good luck.
Hopefully someone on here will have the right answers for you, but if you think you were mis sold the ppi, then give it a go, it may also help reduce some of the debt.
Check the following links below of the guidelines......
 http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#checklist
Which takes you to the reclaiming questionnaire, that you complete and send to whoever set up and arranged the policy from the start....
Keep a copy for yourself as well in case you need to refer to this at some point.
They have 8 weeks but may ask for more time, due to backlogs.
The questionnaire you will find here as stage one:

As stated, hopefully someone will come along with some useful advice for you on this soon, fingers crossed for you.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di" 0 0
