    Please run COMBOFIX
    http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
    Shut down your anti virus
Follow the simple instructions it gives
Post the COMPLETE log it creates here (Split into sections if need be) ~ if there are loads of 'SNAPSHOT' pages then leave them out

If it comes up with a RENAMING error then RIGHT click the exe file and RENAME and call it QWERTY (Making the complete file name 'QWERTY.exe') Or SAVE as 'QWERTY' on download
(If no log comes up or you lose it, COMBOFIX.TXT can be found in C drive)

    Good evening Alien.
Have downloaded COMBOFIX but I see no way of disabling Avast!
Is it OK to "disable the NVA system tray"?
    Do I also run Vcs4Core.exe(273kb) TypeApplication From:localhost ?

I'll do that, as soon as Alien comes up with the answers to my 2 other questions (got another "Low Disk Space" warning, so I need to get rid of something!) But surely everything in Version 5 would have been added to my version in updates?

Is there any evidence that these listed items are what's hogging the disk space?

Have you followed the adivice to open Explorer and find out which folders are holding the largest amount of data, and pruning these?

uninstalling it will allow you to use combofix, then you can install v5

When trying to run Combofix it comes up with something like "This will disable the NVA system tray"
It also asks me to run "Vcs4Core.exe(273kb) TypeApplication From:localhost". Do you know about these?

Update malwarebytes and run a FULL scan

    Post that log

Then attempt a fresh combofix download

  • I have updated Malwarebytes (to Version 4842). Just started the full scan; how many hours should it take if the first scan took 2hrs 7 mins? If much more, should I let it run overnight? I'll uninstall Combofix (I saved it without running) and reinstall it. Is it OK to "disable the NVA system tray"? If asked, do I run Vcs4Core.exe ? I won't download Hijack This until you say so.

press your windows key on the keyboard then choose the word "computer" in the menu that pops up its about middle right of the menu. Can you tell me what Drive letters you have. You will more likely have OS (C), Recovery (D) is there anymore before it says CD or DVD RW Drive (Some letter)? You might have the Drive sizes as well.
