We only stay in a small 3bed mid terrace and the heating hasn't even been on in the past 3/4 months only the hot water and the hob are being used but THAT kind of increase is just rediculous.
I tried phoning them but, put on the usuall hold line saying 15mins to wait etc...., tried saynoto0870 too but number is always engaged.
Probably need to switch now and i havn't even been with them a year:mad:0 -
" we've calculated it by estimating your usage up to your settlememt bill and adding this to your current balance, but not including any discounts"
account balance £475.21
estimated charges £3492.99
total £3968.20
divided by 17 = £233.50
where they get divided by 17 from is a mystery, and basically I don't understand the rest!0 -

You need to find out what this "estimated charges £3492.99" is all about. I thought that you had only been with them since April with no outstanding balance brought forward?
Even so, your consumption since April is very high, especially as you have gas for heating and cooking. Therefore you still need to find out why!

Can only add that we have had no problems with NPower whatsoever, as soon as we are in credit they refund the monies without even having to be asked and do not let arrears build up, are on the ball with increasing our direct debits and then decreasing them when necessary. However my DH always provides the proper meter reading which maybe lets them know that we check these things every month??0

espresso wrote:Well 4730kWh is a lot of electricity to use in approx six months! My consumption used to be a bit over 4000kWh per year but it was down to 3786 last year. How do you heat your hot water? Have you left an immersion heater on permanently? Do you have any other high wattage electrical appliances?
4700 over 6 months in the summer! WOW that is alot! We use approx 4000 for the whole year.
That works out at approx £1000 for the year for just electric!
You didn't turn on the immersion heater on the hot water tank and leave it on all summer did you?0 -
