Pension credit

Hi,
I know with pension credit the amount for couples is £202 and if you have under less coming in that is what it is made up to. But when I checked the entitled to website its says we should be getting £271.51 a week it said:
Pension Credit Award. The award shown includes our estimate for extra help you may be entitled to in respect of interest payments on your mortgage.
Now we get £115 a week with £38 paid towards the mortgage payment which as up to no where near what they are quoting. (£153)
But why would it say £271 when the top up is supposed to be to £202 so even allowing the MI payment is still is much more than we are getting..
Even the Gov.co.uk said we should get more than we are?
Any idea's besides phoning next week?
Thanks

becasue there is two elements to pension credit - guaranteed and savings, the savings credit only comes into play when one is over 65 and you have enough qualifing income. if you were not entitled to the guranteed element then for the savings element, income up to £271 is looked at when working out the entitlement, it is so that you could get some money from Pension credit rather a case of being cut off one the guaranteed element was reached, which happened with Minimum Income Guaranteed.
Savings Credit – Age 65 or over
If you are aged 65 or over and living in the UK you may be entitled to Savings Credit. You may get the Savings Credit on its own or with the Guarantee Credit. You may be entitled to Savings Credit if you:- are aged 65 or over
- have made some provision towards your retirement such as savings or a second pension
- If you have a partner, at least one of you must be 65 or over to get the Savings Credit. The Savings Credit can be up to:
- £20.54 a week if you are single
- £27.09 a week if you have a partner
- £184 a week if you are single
- £270 a week if you have a partner
