Hotmail "Sent" box

For some reason my sent messages are not stored in the "sent" folder. I sent two today and wanted to have a look at them now, but when I click on the folder it tells me there are no stored messages.
I've never been able to read my sent messages again but I was never bothered because hotmail is not my main email, but it bothers me now. I checked in the other folders just in case, and anyway I know the messages were sent properly because I have received replies.
So how do I sort it out?

You gotta click "save to sent folder" at the bottom of the email when you are about to send.
You can probably set this to automatic in the options somewhere but not 100% sure.
If you really need those emails im sure an email to customer services could sort you out by forwarding a copy back to your inbox.
EDIT: Heres a Piccy-
Cant see an option to have this box automaticly checked, guess they do this to save on server space.
Ah well, hope all the above makes some sense to you and helps.:j Midmac Aka Crazy baby :j0 -

Thanks midmac, I can have the recipient resend them to mw when they reply as these are social emails, not business. It's kust that it bugged me and since I'm used to OE automatically storing sent messages, I thought that would be the case with hotmail. I shall look into your suggestion.

Bit of a pain like. Probably not worth it if you use OE more but you could set your signature to " TICK THE BOX BELOW !!!!!".
This way everytime you compose a new message you will be reminded to check the box as its easy to forget

Oh and one more point while im on a roll, the sent folder clears messages older than 30 days so best to move them to a "keep" folder or something like that if you want to keep em.:j Midmac Aka Crazy baby :j0

Yes I did notice te 30 days cut off when searching for a saving option. I'll have to remember to tick the box then...;)

Put yourself on the circulation. Received messages don't get deleted from the server.....I think. I've kept some since January.
