we are due to leave for akrotiri cyprus on 2nd nov, i have only just recived the pack about medicals and dentists ect (4 weeks before we leave is not enough time). we are all booked in for the checks but regarding vaccines i've had no help from our docs or the station docs.
all i need to know is what vaccines myself and our 2 boys (2yrs and 11 months) need before we travel, as its 3 weeks and im worried if its too late we wont be able to go with dh.

This might be of use. Says no vaccinations needed to travel to Cyprus, but Hep A might be recommended. Even if you need this you are ok time-wise as you need it within 2 weeks of travel. I'd ask your GP if Hep A is required at this time.

Barbie,
All will be fine, dont panic. If you need any injections they will give them to you, and the medical is just a checkup to see that you wont be a burden to the limited medical resources in Cyprus.
I fully expect both your children will pass without a 2nd look into it, so there is just yourself to worry about.
Once you have the medicals completed, fax them off to DSCOM and they will provide you with the Visa's you need for your passport, and that is that.
The hardest part of it all is working out what you are going to do during the 4 1/2 hour flight to Cyprus from Brize.
Relax,

this check up doesnt work, as people still slip through the net. Even if you do have a known medical problem, the RAF will still fly you back for treatment.
So dont worry.....
As for vacines as long as you and your kids are up to date with the usual vacines, Hep A and Hep B is also recomended. This is available in a joint jab.Proud to have dealt with our debtsStarting debt 2005 £65.7K.

We just got posted to Cyprus from Germany and had no check up or vaccines. I had a quick look over by the nurse and that was about it.0
