david lloyd contract

I signed a contract for 12 months membership at David Lloyd gym, I would like to end this contract early as I am now a carer and am claiming benefits so can't afford to pay the membership costs. When I was reading through the contract I realised that David lloyd had actually put down a wrong surname. Where do I stand with this error can I just cancel and forget about the contract as the person they have on the records don't actually exist?

Did you sign a contract?
If so then you will be bound by it.0 -

TBH I don't think that will help your cause.
After all if you say "That isn't my name on the contract" they may well reply "Why did you sign it then?"
You can try appealing to their good nature, should they have one, but you may just have to carry on paying.0 -
I could be wrong but with DL I think if you can give them three months notice that you want to quit.0
