Having real problems finding black CDR's. I have found some on Amazon but the reviews suggest that they are tempremental (don't work on Mac's and older CD players).
Ideally I'm looking for audio grade disks that are black on top and bottom and are also unbranded. Solid black, I'm sure you get the idea.
Does anyone have any experience in this field?

Err, if the lower surface of the CD is black, then how is the laser going to write or read it? Have you looked at the lower surface of a home-written CD recently?Ideally I'm looking for audio grade disks that are black on top and bottom and are also unbranded. I had some black CDs a few years back; I got them on ebay.
They were fine (despite being black on both sides!).0 -
I used to use Memorex Black CDs a few years ago .. you can still get them I think!
for instance ... http://www.pc-tronics.co.uk/memorex-cd-r-black-48x-80min700mb-10-pack-jewel-cased-1406-p.asp ..
Memorex CD-R offer the ideal solution for recording a wide variety of digital files including valuable data, precious photos, favourite music and video clips. And with its black recording and upper surfaces, the new design Black CD-R combines premium quality with a very stylish and highly individual disc0 -
Im really intrigued as to why you want them?:idea:0

Used to have loads of these, they were really popular some years ago - especially with PS1 bootleggers of the day. Still have some 1996-8 backups on a few of them. You can still get them in a few designs and one place offering them are HTFR:

They also have a novel 'Vinyl Record' design too :-)0 -
Traxdata used to make them, how do I know? I still have some and yep they where great for backing up PS1 games ;o)))0
