As above - ink light came on, changed Magenta. Restarted.
Ink light came on. Changed all the rest.
No joy.
Now all lights are flashing with error 'E' - have googled and found this:
In most cases, it's a waste ink pad full problem (the sponge that sucks wasted ink is full). But it probably isn't full yet (Epson claims it's full long before it really is!).
You'll have to download the service program for Epson printers (which gives you access to service functions of your printer):
http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/22895/SEIKO%20EPSON_EPSON%20RX420-425-430.html-
did this but it posed more ?s than answers for me.
Run the exe file (it doesn't work in Windows Vista or 7 - you'll need old xp for that).I didn't see this when I clicked the above. Which exe file? Then Select Sequential Adjustment Mode. Select your printer model and then Waste ink pad replacement. Press Ok.
You might have to try a bit.
After you suceed, you need to turn off the printer and turn it on again. If all went well, you won't be seeing all the blinking lights on your printer
and another solution involving pressing spanner button, but this model does not have a spanner button. The other worked for several peeps, according to their follow-up comments.
This is already a wreckage day, getting worse now.
Thankyou

Guten Abend Ampersand,
Ive looked at the problem that you may be having, and come up with a possible solution. Hope this is the solution
The file the website tells you to download isnt an .exe file, it is a zipped (compressed) file created by a program called win-rar.
This file contains the .exe file you need.
First what you need to do is go to the following site and download win rar.
so go to:-
http://download.cnet.com/WinRAR-32-bi /3000-2250_4-10007677.html
click download and pick run when it asks you what you want to do with the file
(clicking run just makes the program initiate the installation of win-rar when downloaded.)
click ok when it asks you where you want to install it to.
(it should be set to c/programs already which is ok.)
A box will open asking you what files you want to associate win rar with uncheck all other than the rar box and the one that says create desktop icon.
click next and then click ok to complete installation.
you then need to download the file you said the program you need is contained in from the site you posted.
so go to:-
http://www.eserviceinfo.com/download...-425-430.html-
click download the file and pick save to your desktop
(a file should appear on your desktop called RX430.rar)
then right click on the file and pick extract here
(you should then hava a folder called SPRX420-425-430 appear on your desk top).
open it and click on APSPRX420Series_Ver12.exe
'voila'
(this is the program you need, 'i believe' from your research.)
it will open an ajustment program
click on the option you need (which from what you said is
The Select Sequential Adjustment Mode)
Select your printer model and then Waste ink pad replacement. Press Ok,
Turn Printer Off And On
this should do it ampersand if the info you researched initially was correct.
Sorry if im teaching you to suck eggs, however if i explain things like this its easier for someone to understand who may read it in the future.

...........and thankYOU confused? I'm now going to try all of that. The way you separate and make clear each stage, without assuming knowledge, is exactly what I need.
btw - never fear I've sucked ANY eggs when matters techie arise. I am nerdwoman.
Also, your final sentence is just another confirmation of that balanced quality that is so evident and thoughtful in all your posts.
I'm delighted that you're going out for the w/e.
Don't know if you collect for Tesco vouchers, but you can do great things with their Clubcard deals.
I am a Life member of YHA[sth wise done by chance years ago] and keep vouchers on hand[thus at 1/4 price]for times I feel desperate with cabin fever/need to bolt. Don't have any prejudices - it's a good way to be very free, yet away. at low cost. YHA have deals themselves, too.

Check the days out, too - plenty of family things.

Hi Ampersand, technology is somtimes more of a problem than the solution it offers lol.
It says if you press initialise it will reset the counter but it also says if doing this you need to replace the ink pads?
now i dont know if you just want to just click the next button at the bottom and tick/check the ink pad button that is displayed under the re-adjustment heading and click finnish.
turn priinter and pc off and switch on again
if that fails i'd be tempted to reset it, buy clicking the initialize button but by doing this it may require you to change the pads! however if not and if theyre only 1/3 full then you can do this and it will probably stop again when it gets 2/3 full.
the only thing with doing this, the risk is it may actually require you to change the pads?
without me having a printer to play with im a little bamboozled as to what to suggest, ive never come accross before?:)
i know after so long the printers at work need something like this doing but i think they just change the cartridges/ sponges and printerheads all at once (very wastefull)
maybe try clicking clean button ect and experimenting with the different options. i wouldnt think there is anything you can break.
i'd try the green text above option before going any further
have you tried ringing epson they may be able to help.
Speak soon
Confused?

Thanks confused? - if all else fails, will check for a SayNoTo0870 alternative[which is how I first came to hear Martin that blessed day, over 5years ago-he was having a good Radio 4 rant on Woman's Hour about said no's, while I was stuck on phone to British Gas on one]
I refuse to use 0870's and other so-called, misnamed Lo-Call no's.
Seeing it's suddenly 23.23h, I'll say 'Sleep Well' - and thanks again.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

yes i too agree with you the Noto0870 site is fantastic.
have you seen 0800 buster too for mobiles? if you use 0800 numbers on some mobiles it charges you instead of comming off your free minutes.
if you use the 0800 buster number it dials a local number first, you then key in the 0800 number through it, then with magic and wizardry your network provider takes it off your free minutes instead of charging you. You'll see most of my posts are between 00:00am and 03:00 am. this is when i sit down to eat my dinner and drink my cuppa.Any betwen these times are from the officeI may get an early night tonight, 00:30amBest set my alarm for work, 06:30 am:eek:0 -
