Laptop with video out

I need a laptop but it must have a video output for use with an overhead projector.
Is this facility supplied as standard on most laptops or will I need to buy a 'high end' model. Hoping not to have to find much more than £300.
Thanks for any advice.

Tell us a bit more about the projector. Overhead Projector makes me think of those big light-box things with a lens unit suspended over the top of it on an adjustable arm. Last seen at school in the early '90s!0

Sorry I meant an ordinary projector

Currently we use a VGA splitter from the PC plus a USB extension cable to project PC screen content onto a wall. It works pretty well but the PC needs replacing and the user fancies a laptop instead of a new PC.0 -
if the projector has a VGA port for video then pretty much every laptop and even every £150 netbook has a VGA port. but to make sure you can just look for the (usually) blue VGA port when you buy the laptop0

Browsing on-line you generally can't see the back of it
and few sites it seems go to the trouble of a full spec listing. Ebuyer do appear to take more trouble and list a VGA connector/external monitor where one is fitted so I'll shop from there. 0 -
As long as 1 has vga then you will be fine, hdmi would be a bonus, be aware that there may be a sequence when trying to get a picture on the projector eg connect the laptop with the projector with the projector off, i know particular projector make is fussy when being connected to a laptop0
