Sainsbury's Easy Saver - Check your interest

My one year bonus was due to expire in September but I received a letter from them informing me it would extended for a further 12 months. This from the same date the bonus was due to expire.
I checked the interest at the end if September and it was well below what it should have been. Phoned up to complain and have now received a letter saying "an error was made on the September interest calculation". The missing interest will be added in October.
Isn't it amazing how these bank interest errors ALWAYS pay less not more?
The same thing happened to me with Tesco's annual interest, they admitted the bonus had been missed on several months during the year.
I dread to think how much money banks in general are making with missing interest payments. People may not notice, particularly if they have money moving in and out of accounts during the year.
I use a spreadsheet to calculate my interest daily and would advise anyone else to do the same.

I bet too yours is being corrected only because you checked and queried with them. What about others?Sisyphean_Task wrote: »I checked the interest at the end if September and it was well below what it should have been. A project went wrong and didn't deliver what it was meant to achieve.
Somebody has to pick up the pieces to put it right.
It's not a conspiracy. It's a c0ck up! Nothing more, nothing less.0
