Can anyone recommend an electric chainsaw?
I bought a Challenge one from Argos for £50 last year, but now it won't start! It was fine for the money.

dump the petrol out of it ...put fresh brand new in ....and use bradex engine starter spray to start it ..should be good to go then.

Thank you, but my ELECTRIC chainsaw doesn't have any petrol;)
But my strimmer does and it isn't starting so I'll give the Bradex a go :T0 -

As others have said Bosch electric stuff is nornally OK for the money
If your other one is only a year old I would be taking it back personally though. No offence it obviously wasn't alright for the money as it now doesn't work!0 -

How do you store your strimmer?
Do you leave it stood up (on its engine blade in the air), or do you lay it down.
Is it 2 stroke or 4 stroke?
Get the best chainsaw blade you can afford that fits your saw.
Cheap blades are a false economy.˙ʇuıɹdllɐɯs ǝɥʇ pɐǝɹ sʎɐʍlɐ

I store it horizontally and it's a 2 stroke.
I've read elsewhere that I should drain the 2 stroke mixture when I've finished with it each time?0 -
Good man.
If you stand it up, then all the oil/fuel drains into parts it should not, and you'll have trouble getting it going.
As for draining the 2 stroke, thats one i've not heard before. Cannot see why you would need to, only if you are storing it for a while i would drain the fuel to stop it going off.
We have 2 stroke powered stuff sat on shelves for ages at work, never had any problems with them, only this time of yr when gardening equipment sit on the shelves till next spring,we have to put fresh fuel in to get them going.˙ʇuıɹdllɐɯs ǝɥʇ pɐǝɹ sʎɐʍlɐ
