    they also tell the truth,,:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
    It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
    Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
    If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
    If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
    If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

    Doubt they'll come down to 6 weeks, I'd try for 8-12.

    With a tie in, I think it is fair to give a tie in - it does take time to sell a place. But at the same time, you don't want to be tied for ever if they prove to be useless. 6 weeks is the minimum you should give, but 8 looks right.

  • Quick update, got them down to 1.5% which is about £1250 and 8 weeks! I feel pretty happy about that :P

    Have you confirmed other fees.

    I have always paid 1.25-1.5% previously (6 house sales over last 20 years) and that has always been 'all in' including marketing. I am currently selling my home and am now being charged a £199 'admin' fee and all my marketing on top of the percentage. This was the same for all 3 local agents I had quotes from, so it seems to be the norm now (at least in my area). The marketing can quickly add up at £50-£70 each time it's in the paper.

  • Thanks for that point I will definately clarify it!
