Childcare costs help please

My son started nursery in Dec last year and when i rang to inform them they asked me to work out how much it would cost per week but i told them it would be done in stages as to when he was ready to go more hours so i just said i would ring every time it changed more than £10. i asked the person on the phone how it worked, as in the year, is it april to april like tax or is it from when he started then a year later do they make sure i've been paid right and he said it was a year from when he started.

So from what i have gathered from him, if this is correct, when it comes to the yearly date he's been in nursery i can contact them and say i've paid say £2500 for his first year which works out at around £48 per week, will they reimburse me what i'm owed if it doesn't work out to be the same?

I hope that makes sense lol, thank you for any help.
