I'm feeling really annoyed. I saw what looked like a pretty perfect house come on to RM on Sunday. Called for a viewing on Mon, was told that an agent would call me back. No-one did, so chased today. Finally someone called back to say it's sold.0

Major setback for us here if anyone can help?0

I can understand how annoying this is. It's happened to me a couple of times. I have been in the EA's office and asked for a viewing to be told there's not enough staff for that at that weekend-then to find that it's sold a day or two later. I think deals are done before some houses ever get on Rightmove.0 -
Glad (well, not really, but you know what I mean!) that it's not just me. It's really frustrating though.0

I work for the NHS and my husband is also in work we spend about £200 a week comuting to work while we are comuting this distance we have no way of saving for a deposit. Its a joke we need to move closer to our work but unable to because of the large deposit that banks are now asking for. We are in a catch 22 situation, we have even split up our family and moved back in with our parents to try and save, but this can't be a long term thing. We have looked into shared ownership to try and lower the deposit needed. It is a nightmare the Government want us in work but then won't help us in anyway, at this rate i will have to think about leaving my job because it is just costing too much to travel. If anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly recieved.
Thank you0 -

Sorry to hear that, sounds like a nightmare, no real advice except if it's really causing you so much grief could you transfer to another place somewhere closer to where you live/want to live? Other than that just try to budget and save as best as you can, it'll happen when the time is right for you
Catatonia - nightmare, I am just getting more and more fed up by the day staring at RM listings hoping/willing the right house to come into sight. Our luck will change eventually, we just need to have the patience of a saint to ride it out :S I hope to know more about my potential house purchase/price negotiation by Friday and am just losing sleep over it...crazy really.

Fingers crossed you get good news tomorrow, Az.
Tracy: could you rent closer to work? Perhaps somewhere small that would do for a year or so while you save up?0 -
I'm reaching the end of my tether with our saga. We asked our solicitors back in November to check the boundary of the property we were buying. They said we were buying the boundary as mapped out by the Land Registry which extended beyond the garden walls. We were grateful for this as the garden is very small and all the neighbours have extended their gardens at the back by a metre or so, which we then planned to do.
Yesterday at 4.30pm I get an email from the Housing Association who is selling the house to say they had a query about the boundary line over Christmas, they are only selling up to the existing garden walls and will instruct their solicitors to rewrite the terms to include this and that they wouldn't now be available to discuss this until next Tuesday.
Even brushing aside the fact that they've suddenly decided to change the terms of the contract and deny us the extra land we thought we were buying, it means yet another delay to the entire process - we are now in our third month of trying to buy a vacant property with no chains either way. This is the second time that the terms of the contract have been sent back for revision.
We're so annoyed that our solicitors didn't clarify this sooner and angry that we are being denied the same amount of garden area as all our neighbours have. They've given us no explanation as to why they have shortened the boundary of the property. We'd pull out now if there was anything else in our price range - what makes them think they can just mess people about in this way?
Really really fed up today0 -
Have you lowered your offer now that they're offering to sell you less land?0

It's horrible waiting, and you get so demoralised. And it doesn't get any better. The closer I get to potential exchange, the less sleep I'm getting worrying about it.
I keep resisting the urge to call the Estate Agent for an update as I've done this previously and get more concerned and alarmed if something has been delayed or an issue has cropped up. Sometimes you need to try to forget about it.
I should be exchanging next week, but I'll be a nervous wreck by Monday I expect...:eek:6.75kwp (15 * 450W) SSE facing
