Bosch PSM 80 A palm sander part

After less than 6 month of using this palm sander doing all the wood work in the house the cushion pad that the velcro type sanding paper is cling to decided to die and the paper don't cling to it anymore.
So far so good, this pad itself got a velcro back that clings to the base plate fuzzy side.
I peeled it off and looked at the instructions where it is clearly showing as a separate part (2 608000 320).
I called Bosch to ask where can I get this part and they told me I will need to get a complete base plate (£22 +PP).
Now, there is nothing wrong with the plate itself and I pointed this out to Bosch's CS on the phone, also telling him that googeling this part number showing that you purchase it on the continent for few euros.
I explained that this is clearly designed as a replaceable part as it's got velcro backing and it is not fixed to the base plate in any way.
The CS weren't very helpful and just wanted me off the line so gave me the numbers for few stockists who obviously only sell this part as part of a complete sanding plate. I don't understand why the hell do they want me to get rid of a perfectly good sanding plate on a £45 sander?!!
I thought that their powertools are good but it's look like they are cr**p like some of the cheap brands. Little to say that I will never buy Bosch again

I have a few sanders with this Velcro idea ..and i got sick of buying the whole rubber backing pad at great cost ..
Most only last about 10 hours !!!
So i went searching and found this company ..

They supply Velcro in a roll that is probably 20 mtrs long and 150mm wide, cant remember what price it was ..it was under £30...i now have lifetime supply ...you only need the black stuff with the hooks.
You stick it on after tearing the old off ..stick it on with contact adhesive in square bigger than the pad ..wait to dry...about twenty mins, then trim excess off ..if you have dust extraction holes ..then just very easily cut them out with a Stanley knife afterwards.
The item that i bought isn't listed on their website ..but if you phone them up I'm sure they will still stock it .
all the best.markj0
