Why can't MSE be downloaded in the UK?

    Don't you have to download it to the computer you are going to use it on so that it can check the copy of the OS is legit?

    Thank you for your patience. That download link didn't appear for me as I am using Windows Mobile 5 with a 195 Mhz processor.
    The pc has XP Professional.

    are you trying to download it via your mobile phones 3G connection? maybe its the fact that it sees your phones OS rather than the one you are going to install on.....

    Just downloaded no problem but link in OP was the same wrong country for me .

    Sorry about that! The problem is (to repeat!) that I am using Windows Mobile 5 with a 195 Mhz processor; that's the reason I've just got a 3 dongle. It's next to useless on this design of forum! I'm on a library PC now, though.

    I presume it would only do those checks on installation. Otherwise, Microsoft are saying it's OK to be online on an unprotected machine.
