I am really hoping someone can help me as my boss is breathing down my neck.
I have an adobe document that was provided by my predecessor and I need to update the infomation on it. It won't let me edit and on the security setting it says that updating is not allowed.
How do I update this - or do I need to do it again from scratch?
I know nothing about Adobe.

Is it definitely Adobe Acrobat and not Adobe "Acrobat" Reader?"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

When I look at the file on my system it gives says Adobe Acrobat Document PDF. I do have the Acrobat Reader 4.0 icon on my desktop.
Am really confused now....Rebecca Martin0 -
so it will be a pdf that you are trying to edit.
If you have adobe acrobat you can do slight changes but nothing major. Normally a file will be created in an editing program such as indesign or word and then converted/flattened to a pdf.

Explain to your boss that an adobe file cannot be edited without the correct software and see if he is understanding!0

How was the Adobe document created in the first place? Was it created with a PDF editor (e.g. Adobe Professional) or created from a source document in another format, for example Word with Adobe add-ins can save a document in PDF format. If the latter, go back to the source document, edit it in Word and save as PDF.0

I did not create the document and I do not know who did. All Ihave is the end document.
What software would I need to update this? And roughly how much would it cost?Rebecca Martin0 -
even you you buy adobe acrobat professional you wouldnt be able to edit much. You would be better off re doing document. I dont know what you need changing, i have adobe professional 7 which can edit the odd thing but its not ideal. If its images you could print screen and create another doc.
If its an important file that needs constant updating it would save time in the long run by creating a new source file from which ever software you use.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
