HELP! Bank charges letter!!

Options
Hi. I was just wondering if someone could give me a hand with wording a letter to my bank.

I have 6 years of bank charges, £30-£35 a go, which I want back! I have been in and out of debt for years, and its because of these charges I keep getting into debt!!

So now I want to send them a letter stating this.

Any ideas? Please, please, please!!

Thanks.

First of all start with Martin's article here :)

You'll find helpful websites, letters and links in there.

Did you listen to Martin on Radio 2 today on Jeremy Vine? If not you can listen again from the BBC website.

oh and welcome to MSE and good luck!

Absolutely join the consumer action group site!

Before you write a letter demanding any money back, you need to find out how much you're talking about with your claim, so join up to CAG and go to the FAQ setion which will help with the step by step guide and also has standard letter templates which work a treat!

I would really like to do this but am scared of what the banks will do to be honest. I only have charges over the last year, but they amount to £270, plus a further £90 due on 1st of November. Has anyone had any bad experiences that maybe they could reassure me with that it all worked out ok in the end?

And how can I stop them from charging me the £90 on the first?
