Big picture needed for fundraiser
Options
I'm a bit stumped here and I can't put up too much info as I know some peeps who live near us come on here and they'll nick our idea, so forgive the short question.
I need a BIG picture for a fundraiser. Something maybe a metre square (ish). I have no idea how I would get a small image onto a big board though....especially since I have no funds to get this done properly and would need to do it myself.
Any ideas?

First you need the image in sufficiently high resolution, so if you want to use a full size photo you probably need at least 5 Megapixel and 10 megapixel would be better.
If you have something like MS Publisher or other DTP program, you set up a page size of whatever you want, lay out the page, then print to "tile" and it will come out on A4 sheets that you cut the borders off and stickytape together. That's the manky option and once you take into account inkjet ink costs, not that cheap.
Wallpaper pasting tables may be a cheap source of hardboard sheets edged with battens, take the legs off.
Otherwise there are plenty of places online that will print out photos to poster size eg eg eg Yes they cost money but speculate to accumulate and all that.
Ideal option is if you have a local poster/banner printer or signwriter with a large format printer who will do it for you as a freebie, possibly with some advertising along the side or as sponsorship?A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Agree with seeing if you can get someone to print it as a freebie in exchange for some advertising / sponsorship. It's astonishing what you can get if you have the cheek to ask (and you don't strike me as someone lacking in cheek, if I may say so!)
As an example, one of our volunteers went into a florist the other day and asked for free flowers for an event we're running later this month, and got MORE than what she asked for!
But also, it would be quite reasonable to deduct your expenses for the event from the money raised, IF you can pay for it up front.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Thanks both of you.
Absolutely no funds to spend on this (part of the 'thing' I can't talk about).
Good idea about trying to scrounge though......will get onto that one I think.Herman - MP for all!0
