Returning to work part-time after maternity leave, advice plz...

Hi all,

My wife is returning to work shortly after being on maternity leave, and wants to only go back part-time (less than 16 hours)

I am working over 24 hours, so just wondering if anyone knew of any benefits available which might make up the dip in income once the maternity leave ends, and my wives income falls due to going part-time.

Would contacting Working Tax Credits and telling them that my wives hours will drop, help in savings in any way?

Thanks,
Sharp

You should always contact HMRC about any change of circumstance surrounding income.

Are you claiming Child Tax Credits?
