    How fortunate it was that the son of the manse didn't introduce the benefit of an Annual Bible Allowance during his campaign to create a client state. Though such would presumably have transformed Britain into a nation of Christians (of the thank-God-and-take-the-money persuasion) its withdrawal now would have been universally seen as the work of Satan.

    Then again, if you look closely at a photo of George Osborne. . .
