tax credits stopped though I renewed on 30 July by phone and form

I've not had any tax credits today despite renewing on 30 July by phone and sending declaration on 27 July.

I've not had any notice, just no payment today. I've rang them and been told computers are down so call Tuesday.

They sent me a provisional assessment in August even though i'd given actual figures. I rang and they said it takes 6 weeks and to call after as (1) they received my declaration on 2 August and (2) they know i rang on 30 July and (3) i have until 31 Jan 2011 to send them info.

I've heard nothing more from them except no payments today. Both working and child tax credits stopped as if i didn't renew.

Any advice?

This has happened to me I renewed on 28th July and the last payment I recieved was the 30th July! Nightmare couldnt do anything for the first 6 wks as like you said they kept saying it can take 6 wks then on the 7th wk I had a letter from the compliance team saying I was being investigated! Couldnt believe it I am always so honest but can understand these checks have to be done it just takes soooo long and you are expected to carry on with no money! I sent in all the info they requested within 2 days then proceeded to ring daily for an update and have to admit the compliance team are very nice and very helpful within 2 weeks the lady returned my docs and said it had gone to payment that was 5 days ago and still not recieved any money! So god only knows if and when things will return to normal!!! Getting in such a mess financially its unbelievable cant even put food on the table this wk! Cant get crisis loan or hardship loan as it was a new claim and can only do that if you have an open claim but is up to their discretion anyway! Have contacted mp but still nothing! It is making me physically ill the worry of it all!

i got the payments as normal until end of September when they stopped as if i hadn't renewed. Having spoken to them, they said if i rang through before end of July then this would not happen.

but it has happened and left me with no money!

I got a letter today (14 days since it was allegedly sent as dated 29 Sept) saying payments are stopping because I didn't renew!

I couldn't call them last until Tuesday because of the system update and they've said they will re-open the claim but it can take 1 week up to 4 weeks. That could be 6 weeks with no tax credits (WTC and CTC). They said it depends on what the computer decides within the week.

But I have proof I renewed and they know they sent me a provisional assessment based on this but cannot tell me why the claim was stopped.

Hi any news on your claim? i got a backdated payment on monday thank goodness! But now am waiting for a new claim pack supposedly sent 11 days ago had to wait 10 days now they have issued me a new one this is gonna be a long slog again me thinks lol!
