cash paid into any savings account

Hi All

iv just sold my caravan for 7k to an old couple who paid by cash, will the bank accept this with out any problems as iv been told there is a 5k cap for cash paid into the bank, any more and they will have to contact the police and the tax office to investigate for money laundering.

    The bank might ask where you got the money from, shouldn't be any problems if from a caravan sale.

  • You won't have a problem paying the cash in, the cashier will ask you questions regarding the funds as part of being vigilant incase their anti-money laundering department get in touch to ask them about the funds.

    Nothing to worry about.
