Well you can get the seeds I think but you'll need a heated greenhouse with lighting to go with them, especially at this time of year.
In the spring and summer though you can grow common supermarket varieties such as Little Gem, Romano, Cos, Red & Green curly lettuce, Red & Green Oak Leaf, Lollo Rosso and the usual green butterhead varieties. All outside, with a little cover in the colder end of spring. You can also grow rocket, beetroot leaves, coriander, mustard leaf, Red Orach and lots of the other exotic leaf types you can find in the expensive bagged mixes. Most of these varieties will be availible from the local garden centre or the usual catalogues.Val.0 -
You have chosen the wrong time to start, but in a tunnel or conservatory, I can produce decent looking iceberg-type lettuce for about eight to nine months of the year using Reine des Glaces seeds, available on this page:

Sorry, no idea what those Morrisons or Asda lettuces are like, but there's plenty to look at on that page. When I buy from supermarkets, it's just the iceberg varieties, because they last in the fridge and I resent paying for them.0
