working tax credits

I receive JSA each week, have two children ages 5 + 9, my wife works 28 hrs a week and i am over 50

we receive the basic and second adult working tax credit, based on my wife working, If i was to start work and work for 16 hrs on a wage of 5 per hour. would i recive any increase in the working tax credits apart from the over 50 element.

i am presuming also that my JSA allowance would be stopped

Comments

  • Potentially the 30 hour element too, however that depends of course on your new household income. There should be no JSA on your tax credits claim as your wife is working 28 hours and therefore you will be getting JSA contributions based. The rise in your income will negate any working tax credits increase, but if youre earning, you will be better off anyway.
