Flash website - user friendly or not?

At work, my boss has paid a chap to create a website. He's put drop-down menus on it and added slideshows.

I was under the impression that not everyone's computer is able to cope with Flash, and that the website would be better off without it in order to allow everyone (no matter what method they use to access the web) to view the site without any glitches.

Am I right in thinking that the website won't display properly on iPads, iPhones, Macs, older pcs, or pcs without a flash plug-in...?
It's nice to be important.....but it's more important to be nice :)

Yes you are right and flash overloaded sites are a pain .
Biggest pain is that they put visitors off a repeat visit .
Nice simple clean well laid out gets repeat visitors ask any web expert .
