I don't know about the refund but you can travel free if over 60 with a Travel Card from your Local Authority. The only cost involved is if you have to book in advance to be sure of a seat then there is a non-refundable booking fee.
N.Never be afraid to take a profit.
Keep breathing.
Just because I am surrounded by FOOLS does not make me wise. :j0 -
National Express give a 50% discount at the time of booking
Perhaps you didnt get this for some reason.
She will have asked for yur concession card just to confirm that you were over 60
Presumably you booked over the internet.
Go through the booking procedure again (without actually booking,)
put your details in where it says 'how many people are travelling over 60 or something like that and see if the same price comes up.
If it does, i would just forget about it.
If it comes up at half the price, write to NE and send a copy of your Eticket saying that you are over 60 and see if they will refund you the difference, but dont hold your breath.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

N.
The OP says it was National Express, not local authority.
NE customers over 60 get 50% reduction on fares, make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

from Aberdeen to Carlisle it should have been free using a Scottish bus pass?0

Only if you were using a concessionary bus pass. and normal service busses.
National Express do not run under the consessionary bus pass, it is a private company who charge fares for everyone.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Depending on the time of your coaches £25.30 would probably be the correct total for a return fare (sat to sun) with the 60+ concession.0

National Express don't operate in Scotland it would be City Link from Aberdeen and they are free using the Scottish bus pas.

Not according to National express who do offer the journey at the OPs stated price (I cannot see that city link offer the journey either)About National Express
At a glance- Britain's only scheduled coach network
- reaching around 1000 destinations in England, Scotland and Wales

Also the OP stated that it was National Express in her original post.

Hi Viatcove,
The national express website confirms this:
http://www.nationalexpress.com/coach/offers/over60s.cfm
It doesn't say what to do when the ticket is issued on the actual bus. It only covers what happens when you book online.
Perhaps you could give them a ring on:
0800 0282878
I got the freephone number on a website which gives numbers which would otherwise cost a fortune - saynoto0870.
It says it's for 'assisted bookings only'. But it's worth a try to see if they can answer your query.
If not, there's a switchboard number who should be able to transfer you to the correct department:
0121 460 8400
I hope you get your discount! Let us know.0
