kind of long story but i'll make it as short as poss
i subscribe to candis and when i first subscribed i signed up to be a product tester-yesterday had an email asking if i was still interested and said yes, they then rang me and said it was to test some fitness equipment.................................not to today got home from picking kids up from school this afternoon to a card saying parcel next door so i ask her and there are actually 6 parcels all from tesco direct, so expecting fitness equipment i opened some of the boxes not one contains fitness equipment.
Rang tesco direct no record of the order/consignment, rang bank no payments gone out to tesco direct (and if something does go out then i can get it back quickly, well i hope so because if money goes out tomorrow i am up s*** creek without a paddle and the kids wont be fed) besides ringing them back which im going to do now what else can i do?
Im actually quite worried that i have this stuff in my house, in MY name in MY address.
I even checked my tesco account online and theres no record of it there either.
Thanks in advance and i hope its not too much gobbledygook

If you're worried about feeding the kids, go to the atm now, and take some money out to stock up the cupboard.I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0

Mistys, I think you have answered your own question there. Def send the letter ASAP. Is there an invoice and if so does it mention a method of payment?0

Stick the goods to one side, ring up who ever and ask them to collect them, within 7 days as you didn't order them and you don't want them.
I agree get to the cash point and take your money out to feed the kids.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100/100miles

so you didnt order it , you havent paid for it and you dont want it? all youve done is (neighbour)signed to say parcels received.
well if it was me, I'd stick it in a corner and if tesco ask for payment or if they ask for it back then let them come collect the goods. Give them plenty of time, say 3 months and if they still havent contacted you then sell the stuff on ebay and spend the cash. If they do contact you after that time (which i very very much doubt) then just tell them tough.
That's exactly what i did with viking direct when they sent me duplicate parcels.
It's their mistake and they are such a huge company that they are far more likely to simply write off an error like that than start trying to contact the customer to get the goods back.
As for worrying if they will take the money from your bank, well the answer is that they simply can't. You have to give your permission for anybody to take any money from your account.0 -
thanks for that puddings

.
You have an obligation to contact Tesco so say that you have goods which belong to them. But it's not your responsibility to engage in form filling and letter writing or getting passed around different departments!
If I were you, ring up Tesco direct again, tell them that you have the goods, then send a letter too. Then don't worry about it after that!
btw. What is in the parcels you've got?0 -
I am sorry, but I am at a complete loss here. OP is a product tester(?) for candis. OK. So some equipment (of which we know little) turns up at their pad, from Tesco Direct. Ok, this is 'unsolicted'.
Right in the UK, as far as I am aware, companies cannot send out unsolicted goods, so if OP did not order them, they are technically not responsible for them, except, as I suppose, informing the supplier of their mistake.
Then OP panics and the usual crowd rush in about money being taken from their account and the usual, and imo, bad advice of emptying their accounts so the 'transaction fails' Sorry, but how the dickens did they get hold of the account details.
And what has the email got to do with this. If I send you a pm message saying pay me £500 every week, click yes to agree, would poster do so, I doubt it very much?
As for the product from Tesco, I would doubt whether Tesco would deliver the said if they had not been paid.
I would therefore, from my view, contact Candis about this0 -

If I send you a pm message saying pay me £500 every week, click yes to agree, would poster do so, I doubt it very much?(not sure what email you mean? when i registered to subscribe to candis i also registered to become part of their tried and tested panel and the email which came asked if i was still interested)
As for the product from Tesco, I would doubt whether Tesco would deliver the said if they had not been paid.(which is why i was worried-incase order was "outstanding" on my debit card)
I would therefore, from my view, contact Candis about this(done and they also have contacted tesco)
but thanks for your input
