Thinking of reclaiming on behalf of my mum - whats the very furthest you go back?

Hey peeps,

After my success with LTSB (a nice cheque for GBP4000+ arrived nicely on my mat this morning) I was wondering whether I could do the same for some loans of my Mum's, although they were taken out during the mid to late 90's. Is this too far back to claim?

God bless and cheers! :D

    Hiya

    Well done on your success.

With it being a bank, I would go for it.

They were regulated by GISC before the FSA taken over, and many on here have been successful in making reclaims as early as the late 90's even earlier.

Good luck, please keep us posted.;)

  • Hi again

Thanks for that. Have crafted two letters to send to each bank on her behalf. Mum does not get the ins and outs so I have addressed the letters in her name to my home for me to deal with. I was just wondering whether this would be a problem, say if the FOS were to get involved (she is in the process of moving house and wou) and also whether she would have to personally sign the letters or would a digital signature suffice?

    Cheers again!! XX

    Hiya.

As long as you make them aware that your helping to deal with the reclaim on your mum's behalf, and I would both sign to confirm this.
Then it should not be a problem in my opinion, although keep an eye on your mum's post as well, just in case the do end up sending any correspondence directly to your mum's address.
(Maybe make them aware of the new address as well).

If it comes to that you were not happy with the final decision, then make the complaint to the FOS, then forward them the details of the new address if your mum have moved by then.

You can do either in regards of the signature, whatever you feel more comfortable with.

Hope this helps, good luck with this X
