Post Office Credit Card - Bank Cash Transfer

Hi There

My friend forgot the pin for his post office credit card - as he was going on holiday i let him take mine as he needed it to book the acomodation. On his return we were going to do a balance transfer to my card to clear it off (mines with HSBC). Post office wont do it as the card is in a different name.

The only options i can think of are

1. Tell post office that the card is in his name, give the card number and let them do the transfer (as i would have thought the card number would be the only reference on their bacs payment to HSBC)

2. Get post office to do a cash transfer to my friends current account and pay my card from there - now the problem here is do post office have this facility? and if so is it charged as a balance transfer or cash advance?

Any help would be great

thanks
