MFI - VAT free promotion - now 20% off

MFI have recently been running a "Half price + VAT free" price promotion which ended 9th Feb, this has now been replaced by a "Half price + 20% off" promotion - making prices considerably cheaper.

So if you've placed an order recently at the higher prices you may want to contact MFI and see what they want to do about.

I guess a couple of options are to cancel and reorder.
If you ordered online ... wait for the items to be delivered and return them within 7 days for a refund. You could even place a new order at the new lower price for the same goods and return the first order when it turns up within 7 days (the 7 day distant selling rule applies from the date of delivery).

If you've taken delivery within the last 7 days you have time to obtain redres.

Tips:
Order online, not through a shop to get the benefit of the 7 day return rule.
Don't know if you have the same option if you buy through a shop.

Set delivery date close to or after the end date of the current promotion.
Use the benefit of the 7 day rule and check current prices for upto 7 days after delivery in case the items are cheaper.


Anyone haggled with MFI for best price offer?

Ordered a new kitchen last night. Had it planned last week at a few places, and MFI were the cheapest. However, holding off they called me and offered me an extra £50 off if I went in last night and ordered it, so of course I did! With the 20% off vs VAT free, I still made a bigger saving this way.

Can't claim any credit for the saving apart from waiting til the last minute, but it was a very profitable decision to do nothing at all.
