Is it worth hanging on?

My wife and I have accounts with The Derbyshire BS which was then taken over by Nationwide. We have other Nationwide accounts too. Is there any point in keeping the Derbyshire accounts in case of Nationwide demutualising? We've had the Derbyshire accounts for more than 5 years and the Nationwide accounts would not entitle us to benefits. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Have you not seen the news over the past 3 years? What windfall are you expecting?0

I agree what are you expecting..
However if you really want to worry it depends on your accoutants.
But I would at the moment worry about what accounts meet your needs.0 -
I expect Santander to make hostile bids for building societies in a few years time,in order to keep their market share up.I have a deep burning indifference0

I dont know if Santander will be able to purchase much more. They must be getting to the limit on market share.0

They might be after them, whether they're allowed to have them is questionable.0
