Taking Wifi laptop to USA

Am taking my laptop (wifi enabled) how do I go about picking up an ISP in Florida? Do I need any special gadget - have heard about a "widget". Help please

it'll be fine, the channels they use in the USA are pretty much the same as in the UK.
edit: infact they have a smaller range of channels than we do, so you'll be fine0 -
Find a public place offering a free wifi hotspot. Here's a list of them in Florida to get you started:

Where will you be staying?
Practically all US motels will have complimentary wi-fi. Some will give you a password on check-in, others don't need a password.
Only the expensive hotels seem to charge!!
If you know where you are going to stay, have a look on their websites to check.
