Joint accounts

Hi, my husband and I have always had seperate accounts, but now we're expecting a new arrival in feb, we want a joint account. It wont be used much, just for family allowance, and any joint cheques we may get once our baby is here. (we were given joint cheques when we got married but nowhere would take them.) But I have a couple questions, probably seem like silly questions.
If its a joint account, can I put in cheques in just my name? And can I recomend a joint account from my own bank, to get a recomendation bribe or who gives the highest bribe for an account thats not used much?
Thanks
Mary

    Hiya,

Yes you can definitely pay cheques into a joint account that is made out to only one of the account holders.

I'm not sure about recommending yourself to open an account, I've never tried it.

However, look on Quidco to see which banks offer the best incentives online.
