Most insurance companies (afaik) use the credit check to confirm identity, and set your APR. I've never heard so far of them saying "you can't" pay monthly.

I think it's more a "confirm you are who you say you are" check than a credit check.

    Good Luck!

I got knocked back from AXA (used to work them too hurumph!) they were saying it was to do with the post code that they wouldn't due to bad customers in past (I could not be bothered looking into it any further)....well I said whats the point in that...if you don't pay direct debit you don't have insurance but here I am all willing to pay a deposit and they still said no!! SUX.

but hastings were best quote after that..now am goin to try save up and pay off next years in a lump sum. hope you get on ok!!

I'm on a DMP and we have changed insurance companies whilst on DMP. Had no problems at all. Did it through Go Compare. Don't think you will have a problem at all xx

  • it is also worth remembering  that even if you pay monthly and you need to make a claim all insurance firms require you pay the outstanding amount in full before the any claim will be settled and that includes if someone bumps into you !!!
