Probably depends a bit on the quality of the butchers. Our ones seem very good. Two delicious chunks of meat, I cut the last one in half giving me 0.360 kg for £2.06.
In old money 12.5 oz, quite a big steak ;-)0 -
can anyone tell me when this offer runs to? i am hoping to get some tomorrow night! thanks! Finally stopped lurking and took the MSE leap!Always on the look out for a bargain and freebies!0

Should run until Saturday for sure, maybe Sunday as well.
At this price I am going to get the butcher to cut me a huge Chateaubriand type steak, obviously cut from rump not tenderloin or sirloin.
It is effectively a huge rump steak for the whole family and easy to achieve that sometimes elusive rare or medium rare inner.
Ask Morrisons to cut a normal (big) sized rump steak but 3 or even 4 times thicker than normal.
You season it as usual then pan fry in oilve oil or grill it on all 6 sides, a minute or so on each side on very high heat. Then oven cook in a pre-heated 200C oven for about 10-12 minutes (a few minutes more if you don't like rare-ish beef), then leave to cool for at least 10 mins and preferably more.
A great alternative to the Sunday roast and absolutely delicious.0 -

Thanks for that info, I didn't think of asking butcher at the counter to cut it for me (they are very friendly in my local Morrisons so I will ask in future), I just bought two pieces already packaged, priced and on the shelf. Such good value and thanks also for cooking instructions, I always seem to cremate my steak!!0 -
Sirbrainy ( or should that be Sirloin?), you are making me hungry. I fancy some lovely beef stroganoff with lots of mushrooms, carrots with orange, "dolphin noise" potatoes and rice. Shame I'm supposed to be on a diet... Good spot though, time to fill the freezer.Hope is not a strategy.0

lol
Just nabbed another 3, one for lunch, 1 for the BBQ tomorrow (we're up into 21C or so they forecast) and one for the freezer.
Runs until Sunday (incl Sunday) and butcher said they'd be very happy to do a personal cut.0 -
Get your half price rump steak!
Last chance Sunday.
Morrisons easily the best meat of the big 4.0 -
