Ipad vs Samsung Galaxy

I've been saving away for a 64gb ipad and am almost there (my birthday/xmas pressie to myself) but now hearing lots of positive vibes about the soon to be launched Samsung Galaxy. Any ideas on which is best?
And should we hope for a pre-Xmas/pre-VAT rise price war between the two?
Also I'm assuming the Samsung is compatible with Windows but what about with a Mac OS?

TAB will run OS Android 2.2 and update to the next version of Android .

Generally Android has no problems with connecting to a Windows PC .

It (Androd in general) doesn't really to as everthing is done on the device itself.

for loading videos / mp3s it just acts like any other usb mass storage.
