How easy is it to get a chargeback when a retailer refuses to give a refund??
My engagement ring has had 3 faults in the 4 months i've had it but they refuse to give a refund. It was chipped originally, then the stone was replaced but the claw broke, and while they repaired that they chipped the stone again.
it was over a 1000 pounds and paid by mastercard. it's a little independent jeweller and so there is no one 'bigger' to go to.
we've had numerous words and sent letters, but not effect - we just want our money back as we don't trust this ring to last a life time.
Any advice greatly recieved!

Phone the credit card company and ask. Say you have a problem with one of the transactions. They will either be helpful or unhelpful.
However, you say that originally, you accepted a repair and not a full refund when a fault was noticed. AFAIK this could mean you lose the legal right to a full refund and all the jeweller has to do is keep repairing it. Might be worth asking Citizens Advice Bureau as to your legal position.0
