I think there is a ball that emits a sound but I have only seen them at christmas time .............and yes it is addictive the game of golf took it up couple years back but rarely play - still an hour on the driving range is good for venting fraustrations
I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.

Pleased for you Martin, your new interest, but sad, we've lost you. Addictive.
The beginning of the end, a good round, the 19th, a bad round the 19th, a hole in one, the word goes out, the 19th fills up, you gotta pay for all the drinks.

My son has just been picked for the England U16 golf squad and is in a position whereby if he finds golf balls, no longer loses many of his own, they he asseses how good they are before deciding whether they are worth keeping, not that we are wealthy..far from it...look at some of my posts trying to raise the cash for his expenses! but any spare we get will happily pass your way...and if you ever want a game..he will oblige!

What against an England under 16 - tosh - I'd need a handicap of 144 to beat him!

    Here's a tip, Martin.

Since giving up MSE in 2010 I played a competition medal round to scratch in August :).

MSE and golf don't mix. My handicap has dropped 2 since I gave up the finance sites.

You gotta prioritise and it sounds like you're hooked ;).

I've got the bug again after 30 years away and it's much healthier than staring at screens.

I'd love to play you and pass on some swing thoughts and short game suggestions.

Get in touch. West London is good for me.
  • You could do with learning from me, no I'm no expert as I've only played once.

I played once, using right handed clubs as a left hander and somehow heroically got a hole in 1, if you can learn to fluke like me your on to a winner !

I really didn't enjoy it that much though so never went back.
If you don't like what I say slap me around with a large trout and PM me to tell me why.

If you do like it please hit the thanks button.

I used to have one of these balls, Martin.

I didn`t buy it, though, I found it in the rough......

    I`ll get my coat.
  • i once managed to play on the golf course in Kabul, Afghanistan. the bunkers where BUNKERS!!! and you never went after your balls in the rough as you probably would not just lose your golf balls due to mines lol!!!

Wallbash - I spoke at length to the guy who was "manufacturing" these gizmos in the US and came within a whisker of becoming the UK distributor for them. Until he sent me a few and I saw they don't work. It's just a flimsy piece of photographic film that doesn't show up the ball any more than using your eyes. Even at that price they're a complete waste of money.
