Jammed Doors. Do I have subsidence?

Hi All.
I have noticed last nights when shutting my kitchen door that it was very tight. Almost like the door has swelled up. That night I also noticed that my bathroom and a bedroom on the first floor are not able to shut as the door hits the frame.
All 3, the kitchen and the first floor bathroom and bedroom are on one side of the house. I can cannot see any obvious cracks in the plaster or outside of the house.
Before i start looking for a structure engineer, would anyone know if this could be subsidence/movement or something along these lines or if anyone else has experience door jamming but no signs of other movement syptons?
My wife is currently checking our insurance policy just in case as we are a little worried.

I have something similar in my house, but its due to damp conditions in the bathroom. The doors can change width by 5mm depending on the weather conditions. So worth checking this out..0

That was my first thought as we had a shower leak a few weeks back. The kitchen door is below the bathroom. However the bedroom is next door to the bathroom but would be untouched by the water. The house is ventilated and no signs of damp. How did you determine this btw?0

Best idea is to get a double glazing repair company in who do not charge to look. it is possible that they were not fitted properly and have dropped. they could determine whether it is a problem with the windows and doors (also effectively for free) before you start paying for structural surveys etc. get your yellow pages out and make a few calls.0

You need a lot more evidence than jammed doors before you worry about subsidence. I have a wooden back door and that has started to stick in the last few days as a result of the rain amd general increase in moisture levels in the atmosphere. The internal doors are probably as a result of increased levels of moisture in the atmosphere. Get a handyman to shave a bit off the doors and it should be ok.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Do not mention subsidence to your insurance company until you are absolutely 100% sure that you really do have a subsidence problem.
You could look at the top and bottom corners of the doors affected. If there is significantly more gap one side than the other then you may have a problem that needs further investigation.
As has been said, humidity is probably the main culprit.0 -
why on earth would you want a DG company to look at internal doors?Get some gorm.0

look at the hinges ..
some ..or most these days fit inadequate hinges ..
to my mind to be adequate .
must be recessed into the door and the frame
joiners these days just recess them into one or the other.
must have four screws in each half of the hinge.......joiners these days are fitting three screw light duty ones .
if the door is heavy it must have three hinges .
all the best.markj0
