EDF Energy prepayment meter

Hi can someone help please?
i have an edf energy prepay meter in my flat.
they were the supplier before i moved in last october . they have £6 emergency credit, usually when it goes in emergency i top up £10 so i didn't notice this...but recently i've been trying to top like £6-7 but it's not enough to take it out of emergency. the price on the meter stays the same.
i called EDF to ask why, they say i need to add £9+ to take the meter out of emergency credit, but they won't tell me why.
i have my electricity with them as well which also has £6 emergency and i can top it up £6 no problem.
does anyone know why they need the extra £3 for the gas? that £3 is not added to my credit either.

The gas meters are set to always leave you with some money for gas so will only take back 70% of your top up although they can take more in certain circumstances. This means that you need to pay enough to cover the debt and leave you with gas.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

ok thanks, i was worried i was paying the debt for the previous tenant as the electric had a £100+ debt when i moved in.0 -
Check screen 27 on the meter. That will show if there is any debt on it.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0
