Another London Hotel Question!

Thanks guys, I decided to book The Mayfair. The deciding factor was something really silly - the Park Plaza has an open atrium, and due to my fear of heights I probably would not be able to get to my room! However I may well try it when back with friends, so someone will be there to hold my hand.
Will report back after the trip!
diable, thank you for the kind offer but I already have a date with a quite wonderful man that night ... Perhaps I could take you up on the offer when I am down with a few of my girlfriends?

My concern with Westminster Bridge is that it looks a bit of a walk from the tube, and I'll be coming back alone and pretty late. I have stayed in the area before with no problems, but am probably a little more aware now - I know there are definitely worse areas, but do you think it would be ok?
I live just around the corner from here, I know it looks dodgy but in the last few years no probs at all.
its about 5 mins walk from either waterloo (under the railway bridge/taxi rank thing) or 5-10 from westminster. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

The ground to roof atrium is what makes the Plaza look so amazing at night.
As I said before, try and walk across Westminster bridge (Preferably from the southbank) at night or early morning as crossing the bridge has amazing views that never ceases to send shivers down my spine and I see it very frequently. You can look back and see the Plaza's Atrium as well.0 -
A quick report back - The Mayfair was beautiful, a very nice room and excellent service. In terms of getting to the RAH it was perfect, a bus runs from the end of the road every ten minutes directly there.
I went past the Park Plaza today on my way to the Imperial War Museum, it certainly looks very nice and I can imagine that you get a pretty stunning view there at night. Last night I was so shattered I doubt I would have noticed it even if I had been there!
I am still trying to remember what I liked about London - I guess I used to enjoy the crowds and that upbeat pace. TBH I found it all a bit silly now, and was tempted to tap a few people on the shoulder and suggest that they will get there just as quickly if they slowed down a tad!
