British Gas

For the past 3 months I have had British Gas calling me trying to get me to sign up to either their Boiler Servicing agreement, or to sign up to their Gas and Electricity.

1) I don't need boiler service contract as both my brother and father are plumbing and heating engineers so I have a free contract I can call on anytime I want.

2) British Gas are for me, and my useage, one of the most expensive suppliers.

I have told them this and asked nicely for them not to call me, but they still do. I have written to them and told them not to call me or I will report them for harrassment, but they still do.

For the past month I have been answering the phone, asking who it is and just putting the phone down on them when I have found out who it is, but, I've had a row with them tonight and asked to speak to a manager who said they have my number from when I had a gas/electric contract with them, and within that contract it gives them permission to contact me for marketing and sales purposes, and that if I didn't like it I could lump it as I shouldn't have given them the permission.

I know he's talking through his anus, but what else can I do.

When they phone just say the person they are after doesn't live at that address anymore. That should probably get you off the system I would think.

Write a letter to the marketing manager.

Then ask for your name to be taken off the marketing records and to deleted your telephone number and details from the system.
