Lloyds Classic with Vantage - clarification please

I opened two of these last month one for me and one for my wife. I have set up SOs to send £1k from my account and then return it a few days later.

I mentioned the account to a relative who has done something similar, but whilst in branch, she was advised that a transfer from another Lloyds account would not satify the £1k condition. Is this the case? I had gathered from this forum that that was what others were doing.

Can anybody clarify.

Thanks

R

  • Internal transfers do satisfy the £1k condition. I do it every month :)

No. As with the Halifax Reward account, the T&Cs relating to the £1k funding are satisfied by an appropriate value credit from any source. Whether that be internal or external. And no matter how transient the credit.

I'm afraid it's just a further case of employees not understanding their own products.

Lloyds employees have had ample time to get Vantage FAQ right, they've had this product for a good while now!

I had the same a while back when I tried to open a fifth Vantage account in branch, when the lady realised I already had four she said three was the limit until I explained to her there was no limit at the time when I added the last one. I knew more about it than her!

Thanks everyone, I suspected it was just an ill informed employee, talking rubish, but thought it best to check.

Yes currently 3 per individual, 6 per couple, however a handful of people have reported as also being able to open 1/2 joint accounts on top of the 6 !

    I'm quite happy with my 7 !! :j
