Reclaim Credit Card Insurance!

I have been contacted on my mobile out of the blue from a firm called helpyourclaim.com. Stating that they will get money supposedly owed to me because of some insurance problem that was taken out wrongly by Credit Cards companies.

Firstly I have a credit card and have always paid on time. I have no insurance on my card.

These people asked for my card number that I reluctantly gave them and they are going to send me out a claim form. My problem is I am very worried that this is some sort of scam and as I have given them my card number I am open to be ransacked.

Please could someone reassure me that I have not been scammed, or if I have, advise me on how to stop this.

I would contact the Ministry of justice (MOJ) and ask if they know of this company and tell them what have happened....

Perhaps you should also contact the credit card company as well.

If you've no insurance on the credit card then there is nothing to reclaim, so I would do the above.

The MOJ I don't think are open until office hours, but your credit card company I assume would be 24/7.

Why would you do this and give them your credit card number? Have they taken money from it upfront to claim something for you?

I would contact your card company and get it blocked TBH.

They said my card number is useless without me giving them starting & expiry date and last 3 numbers on back of the card.

Very worried now.

I would get on to the credit card company now and as Marshallka says let them know cos if they try to take the payment they should be blocked from doing so.

Most card companies have 24 hour tel numbers, do this now and all should be fine.

I have now got the card blocked. Nothing has been taken out since 28th September which is fine, and a new card will be issued to me.
