ebay postage way over the top!

Just a quick question?

I was sure there used to be a way of reporting someone for fee avoidance. An item posted at 0.99 starting price but with postage of £24.99. Is this now allowed?
I am not bothered about reporting them but they are happily flaunting this as a way of avoiding fees. Which they state makes it easier for the buyer.

I just seem to remember that you could actually queery this with ebay, or am I going mad!!

    No, it isn't allowed.

Report it - choose fee circumvention, and then excessive postage and packing.

On the other hand, most people here who sell pay their fees and don't overcharge, so why should this guy get away with breaking the rules of the site?

I agree with not buying but someone brazenly flouting the rules needs to be got rid of.

I don't agree. If something has, for example, an RRP of say £50, and you can get it from that person for 99p + £25 p&p, it means you've got it for about half price. So what if they've overcharged postage! It's your gain you should consider, not Ebay's losses. They'll manage to make a profit, I'm sure.

Or look at it another way. Seller has demonstrated beyond a doubt that they are happy to play fast and loose with rules. Therefore, do you really expect that seller to treat you fairly?

A seller so eager to demonstrate how little they understand ebay is not one that should be trusted.

That's what feedback and Paypal assurance is for.

Perhaps they do understand Ebay and their fees.

Obviously they don't otherwise they would realise that a handful of low stars for postage will get them suspended.

I understand eBay and the fees perfectly and am happy to pay them.

If someone isn't happy to pay for the service they use they needn't use the site. There are plenty of places which charge less than eBay, but eBay have the visibility...because other people do pay what they should.
