Little question regarding WTC appeal

Evening all
This is not a 'am I entitled' or 'can I appeal' post, that's already decided. Simply this, I have appealed to an overpayment, it was a joint error which according to their blurb means I can. The original paperwork went to the appeals dept on 15th July, heard nothing, sent copies on 24th August, and still heard nothing. So, how long might it take, and do I keep sending them copies or what? I don't want to get caught out for this when I have gone through the correct procedure. Any help/info gratefully received.
